Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Trial Date Set in Major Criminal Case

Rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has a trial date, May 5, set by Manhattan federal court Judge Arun Subramanian. This comes after Combs pleaded not guilty to serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. At a recent hearing, his lawyers accused the prosecution of leaking evidence to the media to sway public opinion. They mentioned a 2016 video showing Combs kicking his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, after pushing her to the ground in a hotel hallway. This video was shared by CNN earlier this year.

Prosecutors denied these allegations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson stated that no member of the prosecution team was involved in the leaks. Alongside the criminal charges, Diddy faces over 100 civil lawsuits from people claiming sexual assault. Despite this, his mother recently spoke up, saying she believes her son is being unfairly judged. She compared it to a "public lynching," adding that it's painful to see him accused without a fair chance to prove his innocence.
