Scorpions Delay Las Vegas Show Due to Drummer's Health
Las Vegas, USATuesday, January 21, 2025
Mikkey Dee first opened up about his health issues in early January. He had been hospitalized due to a blood infection that started as a simple sprain but quickly worsened. He described his ankle swelling up and changing shape, resembling an overcooked ham. Dee was rushed to the hospital and underwent three surgeries to remove the infected tissue. He admitted that he was close to losing his life, comparing it to playing drums with his late Motörhead bandmate Lemmy Kilmister in heaven.
Mikkey Dee joined Scorpions in 2016 after Motörhead disbanded. He has only played on one of Scorpions' albums, "Rock Believer, " which was released in 2022. The delay in the Las Vegas residency underscores the importance of health and well-being for the band and their commitment to their drummer's recovery.
