Schools Reopen Monday, Some Stay Closed Due to Fires
Los Angeles, USAMonday, January 13, 2025
The district has been preparing new classroom spaces for students whose schools were affected by the Palisades Fire. They've also replaced air filters at Carpenter Community Charter to ensure good air quality.
The district will give five days off to employees who were affected by the fires. They'll also provide $500 to displaced employees and offer free child care. Schools will prioritize keeping students indoors on Monday.
The district is able to reopen schools because of the hard work of employees who cleaned the schools and first responders who ensured the safety of the communities.
