The supernatural horror flick "Terrifier 3" made quite a splash on its opening day Friday, raking in nearly $8.2 million, according to The Numbers. This third installment of the Terrifier series is expected to bring in up to $17 million over its opening weekend. The film's distributor even reported that some viewers got so scared they walked out or even got sick during a pre-screening. Meanwhile, "The Wild Robot" held its own in second place, earning $3.82 million on its third Friday in theaters. This sci-fi adventure has already surpassed the $100 million mark globally, with a sequel already in the works.
"Joker: Folie á Deux," which debuted at the top spot last Friday, slipped to third place with just $2.2 million. Experts predict that ticket sales for this psychological thriller starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga could drop by as much as 75% this weekend. "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" came in fourth, making $1.95 million on its sixth Friday in theaters. In fifth place was "Piece by Piece," a biographical documentary about Pharrell Williams, which earned $1.49 million.
