Russia's Nuclear Secret: A Shadowy Deal with Iran?
Middle EastMonday, September 16, 2024
Experts point out that Iran's nuclear capabilities remain a tightly kept secret, and their development could see a significant boost from Russia, which holds the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons in the world.
"We're talking about a potential game-changer. If Iran acquires a nuclear weapon, the whole region will be at risk," warns an expert.
In May, the International Atomic Energy Agency warned that Tehran has about 313.2 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60%, a significant increase from previous years.
Iran has repeatedly claimed it doesn't seek to create a nuclear bomb, but experts question their sincerity.
The G7 foreign ministers united in condemning the arms deal between Iran and Russia, calling for an immediate end to the exchange.
"Iran must cease supporting Russia's war against Ukraine and stop transferring ballistic missiles, UAVs, and related technology," the statement reads.
As tensions escalate, the international community must remain vigilant and scrutinize the alleged deal between Russia and Iran.
