USAFriday, February 13, 2026

David McCloskey, the former CIA analyst turned bestselling author, has inked an exclusive multi-year first-look agreement with Prologue Entertainment. This deal grants the independent studio rights to adapt his current and future books into film and television, with McCloskey serving as executive producer on all projects.

A Powerhouse Collaboration

Prologue, renowned for its 2025 Netflix thrillers A House of Dynamite and Zero Day, will work closely with McCloskey to bring his intricate espionage narratives to life. Beyond his own works, McCloskey will also contribute his expertise to other productions under the studio’s banner.

The Rise of a Literary Spy Master

The partnership comes on the heels of McCloskey’s latest novel, The Persian, which climbed to number three on the Sunday Times hardback bestseller list. Critics have lauded his seamless blend of real CIA tactics with compelling characters, making him an ideal fit for Prologue’s dedication to authentic geopolitical drama.

McCloskey introduced readers to his CIA operative Artemis Procter in 2021 with Damascus Station. His upcoming book, London Station, set for release in September 2026, will continue Procter’s high-stakes adventures across the Middle East and Russia.

From Intelligence to Storytelling

Beyond fiction, McCloskey’s career includes briefing senior government officials and serving on congressional panels during his CIA tenure. After leaving the agency, he consulted for national security clients at McKinsey & Company and now hosts a podcast delving into classified topics.

Prologue’s Vision for Authentic Drama

Founded in 2024 by industry veterans Lloyd Braun, Sarah Bremner, and Noah Oppenheim, Prologue has quickly established itself as a leader in high-profile dramas rooted in real-world events. This new deal with McCloskey further solidifies their commitment to authentic storytelling.
