Last year, the chamber launched a magazine for Portage, which was a project spearheaded by the former executive director, Nancy Simpson. This work, which began under Simpson's leadership, will continue under Czarnecki. The chamber is also partnering with Portage Township Schools to expand the No Place for Hate initiative. Czarnecki's background in teaching and managing a homeless shelter has shaped his approach to his current role. He's all about serving people and helping them build connections for a better future. Every September, the chamber hosts an event to showcase the community. A progressive dinner involves transporting participants to multiple restaurants for a taste of their offerings.
