Film director Roman Polanski, now 91, has seen the latest case against him dismissed. This case, filed last year, was set to go to civil court in Los Angeles in August 2025. The case was settled between Polanski and the unnamed plaintiff, who claimed Polanski raped her in 1973 when she was a minor. The settlement was confirmed by both Polanski's and the plaintiff's lawyers.

Polanski has a long history with the law. In 1977, he pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old and spent 42 days in jail. However, he fled the country when it seemed the judge might reconsider his release. This latest case was filed under a California law that temporarily extended the window for such claims. Despite the settlement, Polanski continues to deny any wrongdoing. The case was dismissed to the satisfaction of both parties.
