Pokémon Developer Game Freak Hacked: Leaked Data Reveals Surprising Details

Recently, the Pokémon developer Game Freak has faced a significant security breach. Hackers have allegedly stolen a substantial amount of data, including source code and future project plans. This leak has exposed source code for popular Pokémon games like HeartGold, SoulSilver, and Black and White 2. Interestingly, the leak also revealed codenames for the tenth generation of Pokémon games. This new generation is internally called 'Gaia' and includes two versions: 'K' and 'N'. It's believed these games are intended for the Switch's successor, codenamed "Ounce," although tests for the current Switch might also be in the works.

One of the upcoming games, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is internally referred to as 'Ikkaku' and is reportedly playable. Another project, codenamed 'Synapse,' is rumored to be a multiplayer game developed in collaboration with ILCA. Additionally, beta designs of Pokémon from various generations have surfaced online. This isn't the first time Nintendo, the platform host for Pokémon games, has experienced a major leak. Earlier, the infamous 'gigaleak' exposed multiple projects and game codes. Pokémon Legends: Z-A, set in Lumiose City, was officially announced in February and will be released on Nintendo Switch systems in 2025.
