So, what can we do to change this? One approach is to focus on end-of-life care planning. This means talking about and making decisions about the care a person wants before they are too sick to do so. But there's a big gap in our knowledge about how to do this effectively for people with intellectual disabilities from minority groups.
This study looked into how to make end-of-life care planning better for these individuals. They wanted to find out what works best and what resources are needed. It’s a step towards ensuring everyone gets the care they deserve at the end of life.
