Google is rolling out its October 2024 Pixel Drop with the launch of Android 15. This update brings new features to all Pixel devices, with some Pixel 9 perks trickling down to older models.

The Pixel 9 boasts an exciting new Gemini Extension. It lets you find info saved in screenshots using voice commands. For instance, you can say, "Hey Google, use Screenshots to find my saved sneakers."

Underwater photography gets a boost too. The Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL can now auto-detect underwater scenes. This enhances colors for richer, more accurate photos and videos when swimming or snorkeling.

All Pixel devices get easier access to astrophotography in the camera app. A new slider in Night Sight mode lets you capture stunning starry skies.

Android 15 introduces theft protection, private space, and widget discovery features. Adaptive Vibration reduces noise in quiet settings by using your microphone and other sensors.

Night Sight is now available in Instagram for Pixel 6 and newer (excluding A-Series). Gemini Live is expanding to more countries.

Older devices like the Pixel 6 and newer get Pixel Weather. The update includes a pollen tracker for certain countries. The new Pixel Thermometer UI from the 9 series is coming to the Pixel 8 Pro.

The Audio Magic Eraser upgrade from the Pixel 9 is heading to the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a. The Next Gen Call Screen comes to Japan and the UK.

The Pixel Tablet and Pixel Watch also get updates. Notifications sync between your Pixel phone and tablet. The Pixel Watch gets new contact tiles and improved email features on Wear OS.
