Pharmacy Leaders: A Journey of Growth and Change
A Response to a Real Need
The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) launched the Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP) in 2005. This wasn't just another program—it was a response to significant challenges facing the academy and the pharmacy profession. The ALFP was designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to tackle these challenges head-on.
A Journey of Growth and Change
The ALFP was more than just a training program. It was a journey of growth and transformation for the fellows. The program aimed to make an impact not only on the fellows themselves but also on the sponsoring colleges, the AACP, and the entire profession.
Assessing the Impact
The AACP wanted to understand the real impact of the ALFP. They collected data from the fellows who had completed the program. The goal was to assess the program's effectiveness in preparing leaders and benefiting the broader pharmacy community.
Two Decades of Leadership Development
The first twenty cohorts of fellows completed the program between 2005 and 2024. The AACP sought to determine if the program was making a tangible difference. Were the fellows better equipped to lead? Were the colleges and the profession benefiting from the program?
Data-Driven Insights
The AACP collected data through surveys to gain a clear picture of the program's impact. The results would help them understand if the ALFP was achieving its goals. It was a critical evaluation of a program that had been running for nearly two decades.
A Commitment to the Future
The ALFP was a commitment to the future of pharmacy education and practice. The AACP aimed to ensure that the program was making a real difference. They wanted to ensure that the leaders of tomorrow were ready to take on the challenges ahead.
