PENN Adds New Games to Canada, Expanding Online Play
PENN Entertainment has broadened its digital reach in Canada by launching several of its flagship gaming apps in Alberta. The company introduced theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino, along with separate Hollywood Casino and theScore Casino applications, giving residents a wider choice of betting and casino options.
The new Alberta release follows the company’s earlier entry into Ontario, marking a steady expansion of theScore Bet across Canadian markets. Players in Alberta can now enjoy sports wagering, thousands of slot titles, table games, live dealer shows, and exclusive casino offerings—all through a single platform.
“We’re thrilled to bring theScore Bet into Alberta’s vibrant sports scene,” said Aaron LaBerge, PENN’s chief technology officer. “Fans already trust theScore brand, and this move deepens that relationship by adding a seamless sportsbook and casino experience.”
Alongside the sportsbook, PENN also rolled out Hollywood Casino, which offers a mix of slots and live dealer tables, as well as theScore Casino’s broader game library. These additions aim to cater to both casual players and serious gamblers looking for variety.
PENN’s rebranding of its sports betting platform to theScore Bet happened at the end of 2025, following a partnership change with ESPN. The former joint venture ended in December after two years, allowing PENN to take full control of the online betting business.
With operations in 28 North American jurisdictions, PENN continues to diversify its portfolio of casinos, racetracks, and digital betting services. The Alberta launch signals the company’s commitment to growing its presence in Canada’s online gaming market.
