       The Panama Canal grabs scrutiny in a recent Senate committee. It's chaired by Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen Cruz pointed fingers at Panama, s concentrating on foreign influence.

       Years back, Panama handled the Canal under the condition Panam were to be neutral. . . but that’s where things have gotten tricky.

       China's growing involvement in the canal has people wondering if Panama still do they still hold true to neutrality demands.  Many believe that Panama has allowed China into ports and certain projects adjacent to the canal and have done so giving China lower capital rates for their shipments compared to the USA.

      Sola, the top guy at the Federal Maritime Commision, told the committee that not only has China been able to snag billions in deals, “some right next to the Panama Canal,   however no bid was put in place. ” Sola mentions that we must increase our support to American businesses, but refrain from any threats unless we have lots solid proof.

     For him to push back. . . it puts pressure on BUT it does on unpopular governments to go along with plans while American businesses may not do so,  This leaves one to wonder how Panama will pay back its decision to work with China?

Now,  if this goes on, there could be trouble for naval ships in the future. The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

      After talk of the issue, President Trump attempted to get answers from Panama but to avoid being too harsh, he must do exactly as suggested.
