OpenAI Secures Pentagon Deal After AI Showdown
Washington DC, USASaturday, February 28, 2026
The deal is still pending final approval because the U. S. military usually relies on Amazon Web Services for classified work, and OpenAI’s software isn’t yet available there. However, Amazon recently committed $50 billion to the company as part of a larger funding round.
This partnership could open doors for OpenAI’s technology in defense, but the company remains committed to its core safety principles and will not let its tools be used for surveillance or lethal autonomous systems.
