Ohio Senator JD Vance, who's running for vice president with former President Donald Trump, believes that negotiating with Russia could help end the war in Ukraine. In a recent interview, he didn't call Russian President Vladimir Putin an "enemy, " but a "competitor" and "adversary. " Vance thinks diplomacy is important, even with people you don't like.

He believes talks between Ukraine, Russia, and our European NATO allies might be needed to end the war. "It's just a necessary part, " he said. Vance also defended Trump, saying his loyalty lies with the American people and the Constitution. He thinks Trump's presidency was good for the country. Vance addressed criticisms from some of Trump's former staff, like John Kelly. He thinks these people are just upset because they lost their jobs. He also accused the current Justice Department, led by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, of targeting political opponents. However, there's no proof of this.
