Nvidia CEO Invited to Talk About China Sales
Senator Warren Calls on Nvidia CEO for Senate Banking Committee Hearing
Senator Elizabeth Warren has formally requested NVIDIA’s chief executive, Jensen Huang, to testify before the Senate Banking Committee next week. The invitation—sent Thursday—positions the hearing as an opportunity for Huang to clarify NVIDIA’s stance on U.S. export laws and its operations in China.
NVIDIA’s GPUs power the burgeoning artificial‑intelligence sector, fueling data centers and AI tools worldwide. That prominence has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers who fear the technology could enhance China’s military and surveillance capabilities.
In a recent interview, Warren noted that while Chinese customers buying NVIDIA products benefit American companies financially, the practice could jeopardize national security. She warned that tightening export regulations might erode U.S. competitiveness and push customers toward foreign rivals.
NVIDIA has not yet responded to the invitation. Shares dipped modestly after trading, closing at $218.66 and falling to $216.31 in after‑hours sessions, yet analysts continue to rate the company highly for quality.
The forthcoming hearing will test NVIDIA’s position on export controls and could influence future policy on technology trade with China.
