Hazardous Conditions Expected

School Districts on High Alert

School districts are in a tough spot, deciding whether to close or keep schools open.

• As of Thursday, five districts haven't made up their minds about Friday classes.
• After-school activities and sports events for the weekend have already been canceled.

Dallas ISD

• All schools will open Friday.
• Buses will run as usual.
• The superintendent will make the final call based on road conditions and advice from weather experts, police, and utility companies.

Richardson ISD

• Keeping a close eye on the weather.
• If they delay or cancel classes, they'll notify everyone by 5:30 a.m.

DeSoto ISD

• Monitoring the situation.
• Will decide by 5:45 a.m. Friday.

Arlington ISD

• Plans to keep campuses open but will reconsider if road conditions worsen.

Mesquite ISD and Fort Worth ISD

• Monitoring the forecast but haven't made any decisions yet.

Grand Prairie ISD

• Doesn't expect to change schedules.
• Working with the city and weather service to stay updated.

Universities

• TCU, SMU, and UNT are keeping an eye on the weather but have no plans to close yet.
