NISAR Mission: Delayed Launch, Repairs, and What's Next

You might be wondering why the NISAR mission isn't already up in space. Well, there's been a bit of a hiccup. Originally planned for launch this spring, NASA and its Indian counterpart decided to push it back. Why? The spacecraft's main radar antenna needed some TLC. Engineers found out that once it was in orbit, the antenna would get warmer than expected. Woops! So, they had to send it back to the States for repairs. The fix? Some reflective tape on its black rods. Pretty simple, right? Now, you might think they could just send it back up right away, but nope. There's a launch pad issue at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in India. Another mission needs it first, so NISAR has to wait its turn.
