Nintendo Switch 2: What You Need to Know Before Launch
USAWednesday, May 28, 2025
The Switch 2 will support additional USB mice, not just the mouse mode on the Joy-Con 2. This is a big deal for gamers who prefer using a mouse. It adds more flexibility to how you can play games on the Switch 2.
With the holiday weekend over, there's a better chance of seeing new pre-order opportunities for the Switch 2. Retailers are starting to receive their stock, and some have confirmed they will have limited additional stock on launch day. Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop are among those who will have extra consoles in-store. GameStop and Best Buy will also hold midnight launches for pre-order customers and those without a pre-order yet.
Samsung is pushing Nintendo to use its OLED panels in a future version of the Switch 2. This doesn't guarantee an OLED Switch 2, but it's good news for gamers who want that screen quality. Samsung has been a key hardware partner for Nintendo, so this push makes sense.
Some retailers in the U. K. still have Switch 2 bundles available. Currys, for example, offers bundles that include the console, a camera, and a microSD card. These bundles are priced higher than the base console, but they come with useful extras.
