New Year's Survivor Back Home in Baton Rouge

In Baton Rouge, there's some good news after a tragic start to the year. Parker Vidrine, an 18-year-old local student, is back home after being injured in a New Year's terror attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. His friend, Kareem Badawi, sadly didn't make it. Parker and Kareem were in New Orleans to celebrate the New Year. They were both graduates of the class of 2024 from Episcopal High School. The attack occurred around 3:11 a. m. on January 1. Jabbar drove for almost three blocks before crashing into heavy machinery near Conti Street. After the crash, he got out of the vehicle and started shooting at the police, injuring two officers who are now stable. This tragic event has reminded everyone about the importance of safety during big celebrations. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack. Parker's recovery journey has been tough, and the community is rallying around him with support and donations.
