New Voices for the Nuggets: A Change in Broadcast Team

Denver, Colorado, USAThursday, June 11, 2026

Altitude Sports has decided not to renew the contracts of two veteran broadcasters, Scott Hastings and Chris Marlowe, signaling a new direction for the station.

  • Chris Marlowe – 22‑year regional play‑by‑play voice for the Nuggets – posted a brief note on social media that he will not return next season. He emphasized that this is not a retirement, citing his extensive background in sports announcing across USC basketball and NCAA championships in swimming, gymnastics, and volleyball.

  • Scott Hastings – former NBA player with 11 years in the league – had been a familiar voice in Denver sports, having worked for the Broncos before joining Altitude Sports.

The station also let go of team reporter and studio analyst Chris Dempsey, ending a trio that had been closely associated with the franchise for over a decade.

Founded in 2004 and owned by Stan Kroenke’s sports entertainment group, Altitude Sports has long been a key broadcaster for the Nuggets, Avalanche, Rams, and Arsenal FC. The organization’s president highlighted that Hastings, Marlowe, and Dempsey have shaped the fan experience for years—especially during the 2023 championship run—and will be remembered as ambassadors of the team.

This decision marks a shift in how the Nuggets present their games to fans, potentially bringing fresh voices and new styles to the broadcasts.
