New Leader Aims to Grow Kids Museum in Tough Times
Kitsap County, Washington, USAThursday, June 11, 2026
The director also launched “Night at the Mini Museum, ” a program where parents can drop off their children for a night of STEAM activities, snacks, and a movie. This initiative adds flexibility for families who cannot visit during regular hours.
Looking ahead, the museum is demolishing its top floor to create a sensory space for neurodivergent children and families. The new area will explore all eight senses, with a focus on balance and body awareness. Interactive exhibits aim to teach sensory processing and child development in an engaging way.
By diversifying programs and creating inclusive spaces, the museum hopes to attract more visitors, secure additional revenue streams, and ensure its long‑term survival.
