Microsoft is making it easier to draw and doodle in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint by introducing two new pens from OneNote:

  • Brush Pen: Ideal for drawing and adding an artistic touch.
  • Fountain Pen: Perfect for writing notes with a stylish flair.

Customizing Your Drawing Tools

Adding more tools can clutter the drawing area. To keep things tidy, Microsoft allows you to:

  • Choose which pens to display.
  • Move them around.
  • Delete the ones you don’t use.
  • Add new pens by clicking the "Add" button.

How to Access the New Pens

To use these new pens, ensure you have the latest version of Office (version 2508 or later). Then:

  1. Go to the Draw tab.
  2. Find the new Fountain and Brush pens.

Why Draw in Word or Excel?

  • Add cool doodles to presentations.
  • Write notes by hand for a personal touch.

Do You Need All These Pens?

If you're not into drawing, extra pens might just get in the way. Fortunately, Microsoft lets you customize the Draw tab to keep only the tools you actually use.
