This move is seen as a big win for Ryman Hospitality Properties, which has a strong presence in Nashville with venues like the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry House.  The group also has partnerships with popular country music stars like Luke Combs and Blake Shelton.

        The Ascend Amphitheater, which opened in 2015, has been a popular spot for concerts, especially during the summer.  However, it has a cap of 35 shows per year due to its location in a residential area.  Reed plans to change that.  He wants to make the venue a year-round destination.
