Around one-fifth of the participants followed the Mediterranean diet, but no clear connection was found between this diet and gum health. The same was true for carb consumption and tooth decay.
What does all this tell us? It looks like being more active helps lower the risk of gum disease. But there's still lots to learn about how exercise affects our gums. We need more studies to figure this out.
