Non-immersive VR, on the other hand, didn't quite match up. Participants still enjoyed it, but the mood enhancement wasn't as pronounced as with the immersive version. They tended to stay more aware of their surroundings and weren't as deeply engrossed in the virtual world.
Biking, as a traditional exercise, also improved mood. However, it couldn't quite reach the same highs as immersive VR. The physical activity and fresh air definitely had a positive impact, but it didn't offer the same level of mental escape.
The study highlights that while all three activities can perk up your mood, immersive VR might just give you that extra kick. It's a fascinating look at how technology can enhance our emotional well-being.
