Milpitas Opens Doors for Students and Car Fans

Across town, the Silicon Valley Career Technical Education center is putting on its 20th annual Bob McTaggart Custom and Classic Car Show. The event takes place Friday, May 1 from 5 to 8 p. m. at the Metropolitan Education District on Hillsdale Avenue in San Jose. Fans of vintage and custom vehicles will see cars, motorcycles, trucks and bikes on display. The show benefits the center’s SkillsUSA chapter, which trains students in automotive technology and leadership. Money raised each year goes to student competitions and educational supplies, with past shows pulling in more than ten thousand dollars. The evening also offers raffles, prizes, live music from Cold Storage and food made by the center’s culinary students.
