Meet the Artist Behind Your New Card

The Art of Disney in Disney Springs hosted a special event for fans of the new Lorcana card game. Guests could join a virtual line and meet illustrator Mike Parker from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. on July 17. Parker signed cards and gave out a free Maleficent promo card to anyone who stopped by World of Disney. A display near the signing spot highlighted Parker’s background and recent work. He is a freelance artist from Wyoming, now living in Utah, who has drawn characters for titles like Atlantic, Treasure Planet, Sleeping Beauty, DuckTales, and The Incredibles.

Parker began working with Ravensburger on Lorcana during the “Into the Inklands” set. His latest contribution is the “Attack of the Vine! ” card featuring Dash and Violet Parr as Super Siblings. When he’s not drawing, Parker teaches animation at Brigham Young University and enjoys time with his family. In the shop, Parker’s artwork was displayed on both sides of a large frame. One side showed his Dash Parr – Super Feet card, while the other featured the Super Siblings card. Collectors of Lorcana are encouraged to share their excitement on social media.
