Meet Nvidia's Chatty AI Characters: A Work in Progress
Las Vegas, USAWednesday, January 15, 2025
Nvidia also demonstrated AI for other games, like ZooPunk, where an AI character had trouble following simple instructions. It turned a spaceship orange instead of purple and mixed up images for a decal. The real potential, though, seemed to lie in Nvidia's desktop companion apps, like G-Assist, a chatbot that can adjust settings and provide performance graphs.
But Nvidia's AI still has a long way to go. It needs to be more useful and less annoying. An AI head for streamers was surprisingly rude, and a talking mannequin head on your desktop felt more creepy than helpful. These AI characters are like rough drafts that need a lot more fine-tuning.
