Meet Aaron Pierre: The New Green Lantern in HBO’s Lanterns

Guess who’s joining the HBO show, Lanterns? It’s Aaron Pierre, known for his roles in Rebel Ridge and Old. He’ll be playing John Stewart, a fresh recruit in the Green Lantern Corps. This isn’t any ordinary mission; John Stewart and veteran Lantern Hal Jordan are teaming up to solve a mysterious murder on Earth. Kyle Chandler might also join as Hal Jordan.

Lanterns is part of a bigger plan by Warner Bros. and DC Studio to create a new universe of connected comic book stories. You might have heard of James Gunn’s Superman movie and the series Creature Commandos. The showrunner, Chris Mundy, has a lot up his sleeve, but details are still under wraps. It's been a while since we had a good John Stewart story on TV. Justice League Unlimited ended in 2006. So, the wait might be worth it for this new Green Lantern adventure.
