Marty Moves to Rotterdam

Rotterdam's International Film Festival has just welcomed a new face. Marten Rabarts, formerly of the New Zealand International Film Festival, is now leading IFFR Pro. This role involves promoting Dutch film culture worldwide and running programs like CineMart and Rotterdam Lab. He'll work with the festival director, Vanja Kaludjercic, and report to Melissa van der Schoor. Marten has a strong background in this field, having led EYE International (now SeeNL) for four years and Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam for twelve years. The 54th edition of IFFR is set to run from January 30 to February 9, 2025. In other news, Yash Raj Films is preparing for the release of "Alpha," a female-led spy thriller starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, it's part of the YRF Spy Universe and is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2025.

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's JioCinema has appointed Ishan Chatterjee as its new chief business officer. With over twenty years of experience, including thirteen at Google, Ishan will focus on growing revenue across sports and entertainment content. He joins from YouTube India where he served as managing director. His appointment aligns with JioCinema's goal to improve its technology and user experience. Lastly, a charity movie called "Homebound" is coming soon. Made by SOSD, an animal welfare group in Singapore, it celebrates stories of resilience among rescued dogs. The film is directed by several new faces including MediaCorp actors Rui En and Lawrence Wong. It'll premiere at a charity gala on October 30 in Singapore.
