Laser vs Needles: A Battle for Morphea Healing

Morphea, a chronic condition where the skin turns thick and hard, has always been a puzzle for doctors. They wondered if the same treatments that fix scars could also help morphea. So, they put two popular methods, laser treatment and microneedling, to the test. Thirty patients were split into two groups. One group got laser treatments, while the other got microneedling. Both methods were done three times, a month apart. After the last session, they checked how well the treatments worked using photos, a scoring system, and looking at skin samples under a microscope. They also asked the patients how satisfied they were and if they had any side effects.

Both treatments made the skin healthier, according to the scores. The skin samples also looked better, with improvements in blood vessels, skin layers, and fatty tissues around tiny skin structures. Patients were happy with the results and said both methods were easy to handle. So, whether it's laser or needles, both seem to be good choices for treating morphea.
