Lakers Lose to Nuggets, Players Falter Amidst Strong Denver Start
Ball Arena, Denver, USAFriday, March 6, 2026
Jaxson Hayes had an outstanding performance, scoring 19 points on efficient shooting and creating opportunities for teammates. His effort earned him an A+ grade, the best in the lineup.
Luke Kennard stayed on task by hitting his threes and setting screens, earning a B+ for meeting expectations.
Jake LaRavia struggled to find his rhythm, missing most of his shots and contributing little on defense. He received an F, indicating a need for improvement or reduced minutes.
Deandre Ayton and Jarred Vanderbilt had limited playing time, so they were not graded; however, both showed signs of underperformance.
Coach JJ Redick faced criticism for not rotating the lineup effectively, especially keeping Ayton on the court despite a knee injury. His coaching decisions earned him a D grade.
Other players, such as Dalton Knecht, Adou Thiero, Kobe Bufkin, Bronny James, Maxi Kleber, Chris Mañon, Nick Smith Jr. , and Drew Timme, were inactive or missed the game entirely.
Overall, the Lakers struggled to counter Denver’s early surge and failed to execute on both ends of the floor, resulting in a disappointing loss.
