K‑Pop Giants Unite to Dream a Worldwide Festival

South Korea, GoyangFriday, April 17, 2026

South Korea’s leading music powerhouses—Hybe, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment—have joined forces to create a new company that could host an international music festival featuring their stars.

The collaboration follows the four firms’ announcement, as members of a government cultural committee, to form a joint venture aimed at promoting Korean music beyond borders.

The “Fanomenon” Concept

JYP’s founder Park Jin‑young, who co‑chairs the committee, first revealed the “Fanomenon” concept in October. The name blends fan and phenomenon, hinting at a large‑scale event that might compete with global festivals like Coachella.

Goal: Stage the festival by December 2027, signaling ambition and confidence.

A Model for Cooperation

The agencies describe the partnership as a model that could unlock new opportunities for Korean pop culture worldwide. While the legal framework for the company is underway, partners admit that detailed business plans and operational details are still being worked out.

They promise to make careful choices, taking market conditions and varied viewpoints into account before moving forward.
