Kim Kardashian has voiced her support for Erik and Lyle Menendez after Los Angeles County's new district attorney, George Gascón, proposed to replace their life without parole sentences with 50 years to life with parole eligibility. The brothers, who were convicted for killing their parents in 1989, have been in prison for over three decades. Kardashian, known for her social justice advocacy, praised Gascón's decision on her Instagram Stories.

"It's a big step towards a fairer justice system, " she said. The Menendez brothers were just 18 and 21 when they committed the crime, claiming self-defense against years of abuse. Their 1993 trial ended in a hung jury, and during the 1995 retrial, the judge limited evidence about sexual abuse. This move by Gascón opens the door for a new evaluation of their case.
