Kids Get Stronger in a “Floor Is Lava” Ninja Gym
The latest addition to Howell’s community is not just a playground—it's an obstacle course designed for confidence and fitness. Two former Army men have launched USA Ninja Challenge, aiming to give kids a safe, engaging space to grow both physically and mentally.
Who’s It For?
- Ages 4–17: Main program for all ages.
- Sidekicks Program: For toddlers who can bring a parent along; no long‑term commitment required.
- Summer Camps: Extra playtime for kids who want it.
The Experience
The layout feels like a game: padded paths, rope swings, and monkey bars test balance and strength. Kids think they’re avoiding “lava,” but they’re actually following a structured curriculum that blends gymnastics, climbing, and cross‑training. Each skill is independent—kids can master a wall or rope without waiting for other lessons.
Impact
- Self‑esteem & teamwork: Parents report noticeable boosts as children tackle new challenges.
- Family Involvement: The owner, a former Iraq soldier turned duct cleaner, says his 3‑year‑old son now wants to come every day and is amazed at his progress.
Beyond Daily Classes
- National Championship: Hosted in Texas.
- Partnership with USA Pentathlon Multisport: Goal to develop a competition team for the 2028 Olympics, where obstacle‑course events will replace equestrian show jumping.
Flexible Membership
- Month‑to‑month: No contracts, just flexibility to fit any schedule.
- Community Fundraisers: Planned to support local initiatives.
In short, the Howell location offers a playful yet disciplined environment where kids can learn resilience, agility, and confidence—all while having fun.
