Keon Coleman's Struggles: A Setback for the Bills?
Another Game on the Bench?
Keon Coleman, the Bills' second-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, is losing his spot on the team. He might sit out again on Thursday night against the Texans, marking his second consecutive game on the bench.
A History of Mistakes
Coleman's issues began last week when he was late for a meeting. This wasn't his first mistake, though. Earlier in the season, he was benched during a game against the Patriots after fumbling the ball.
Coach's Decision
Bills coach Sean McDermott said Coleman had used up his chances.
"That was my decision. It is disappointing, but I still believe in the young man."
A Promising Start, a Troubling Decline
Coleman had a great start to the season with eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. But since then, his performance has dropped significantly.
- Only 32 catches for 330 yards
- Three touchdowns on the season
- No game with more than 50 yards
Coleman Takes Responsibility
After being benched, Coleman said he and McDermott were "on the same page" and took responsibility.
"Doing what I’m supposed to do, doing the right things, being where I’m supposed to be … You can’t make those types of mistakes. You’re a professional."
Bills' Tough Season
The Bills are in a tough spot this season, chasing the Patriots in the AFC East and hoping to make it to the Super Bowl. But with Coleman's struggles, it's unclear if he will be a part of that journey.
