Kamala Harris Ponders Another Presidential Bid

NYC, New York, USASaturday, April 11, 2026

Kamala Harris told a crowd in New York that she is “thinking about” running for president again. She spoke at the National Action Network Convention, a meeting that many Democratic hopefuls are expected to attend for 2028. Her answer came after Rev. Al Sharpton asked her directly if she plans to launch a campaign.

“The status quo is not working for a lot of people.”
— Harris

Harris said the current political climate isn’t working. She spent most of last year traveling across the country, especially in the South, and observed that people want progress instead of endless paperwork.

During the conversation, the audience chanted “run again” in support. Harris didn’t give a firm yes or no, but she left the door open for another run.

She also criticized President Trump’s approach to foreign policy. Harris argued that Trump’s handling of the Iran conflict damaged America’s alliances and global standing. She said that the president’s claim of eliminating Iran’s nuclear program was untrue, suggesting it harmed U.S. credibility.

In addition to the convention remarks, Harris plans to visit Southern states in spring to help Democrats raise money for the upcoming midterms. She will speak at parties in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and attend a dinner hosted by the Arkansas Democratic Party.

Her comments come at a time when several other leaders—such as Pete Buttigieg, Josh Shapiro and others—are also hinting at future campaigns. The convention is shaping up to be a key gathering for those who might seek the 2028 Democratic nomination.
