Kamala Harris' Campaign Responds to CBS' Editing Controversy
Washington DC, USAFriday, October 11, 2024
In the original preview, Harris talked about how US aid helps Israel defend itself and the importance of diplomacy. But in the primetime episode, her long answer was cut down to one sentence. When the interviewer, Bill Whitaker, pushed her, her answer stayed vague.
Former President Donald Trump's campaign has called for CBS to release the full, unedited interview. They think CBS might be trying to make Harris look better. CBS hasn't directly commented on this controversy.
This isn't the first time a presidential candidate skipped a "60 Minutes" interview in October. Harris' interview is the first since the 1960s where both candidates didn't sit with the show.
