Josh Duhamel Says Celebs Should Keep Politics Quiet
The actor best known for the “Transformers” franchise recently appeared on a radio program hosted by former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. In the interview, he explained why he keeps his political views private.
“I have strong views, but I don’t want to push them because it could turn off half of my fans,” he said.
He added that anyone seeking success in entertainment should avoid alienating audiences with political stances. “I’m here to make movies and TV, not to become a politician,” he clarified.
When asked if he might run for office, the actor joked that it was unlikely—he has no plans to do so.
The appearance itself sparked debate. Some viewers questioned whether the show was a political move, while others demanded to know Duhamel’s personal views. He had previously supported Republican candidate Doug Burgum in 2024, though Burgum ended his campaign early.
Beyond politics, Duhamel stars in Netflix’s “Ransom Canyon,” a drama about a Texas ranch family. The series has been renewed for a second season, though no release date has yet been announced.
