iPhone Gets 13 Fresh Features in the Next iOS Update

USAWednesday, March 18, 2026
Apple has just dropped a new beta build for its operating system, showing that the upcoming release will bring thirteen brand‑new tweaks and fixes to iPhones. The first sign is that the public rollout should happen next week, while the next beta will include a new Siri powered by Gemini and other smart tools. Apple also posted full release notes, letting users see exactly what’s changing. The new update adds a fun “Playlist Playground” that turns a simple description into a ready‑made playlist, plus a “Concerts” section in Apple Music that spots nearby shows and suggests fresh artists based on what you already like. Offline music can now be recognized even without a connection, and an Ambient Music widget offers curated mixes for sleep or work directly from the Home Screen. Album and playlist pages will look better with full‑screen backgrounds.
Accessibility improvements make bright flashes less intense, allow subtitles to be easier to find while watching media, and help people sensitive to motion reduce animations more reliably. Users can also add new emojis—such as an orca, trombone and ballet dancer—to the keyboard. Other updates include new editing tools in Freeform, a way to mark reminders as urgent from the quick toolbar, family members being able to use their own payment methods in Family Sharing, and a smoother typing experience with better keyboard accuracy.
