India and China Shake Hands on Himalayan Border
Ladakh, IndiaWednesday, October 23, 2024
Back in July 2020, a military conflict between the two neighbors resulted in the deaths of Indian and Chinese soldiers. Since then, both countries have beefed up their military presence along the border. Although there's been a partial withdrawal from certain areas like Pangong Tso lake, Gogra, and Galwan Valley, tensions remain high. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar sees this agreement as a result of patient diplomacy, hoping it will lead to peace and tranquility along the border, essential for improving relations between the two countries.
