There was immense excitement in Omaha.  The Nebraska Huskers' Heinrich Haarberg and Dylan Raiola made their way to the CHI Health Center arena. The two football stars were not just there.

      It was January 31, 2024.  That was the night the Omaha Supernovas took on the Columbus Fury.  It was also a National Girls and Women in Sports Night.  And it was a night for Nebraska football personalities.  The two stars came to this volleyball match for a reason.  Not just to see some great volleyball.  They were there to show their support for women's sports.

      Haarberg spoke to Ana Bellinghausen about this. The football tight end said, "Backing women’s sports is a big deal for us. "  It's not just about the sport.  His motivation comes from deeper in his life.  He has three younger sisters.  They love sports.  Everything he does is to inspire them and show them how to be better.   Dylan Raiola, the Huskers QB, said something similar.

      Raiola said he supports these events because growing up he watched his sister play sports.  With his sister’s example, he feels the need to encourage women's sports.  The Nebraska quarterback even admitted he gave volleyball a try.  He knows he can serve, pass, and even enjoy the sport.  Others, like Coach Matt Rhule, also went to this women's volleyball event.  He chose Omaha for his 50th birthday celebration. He wanted to see the best volleyball in the world.

    Rhule told a presenter about his decision.  The coach said, "I saw my family wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday. "  Rhule knew exactly where he wanted to be.  The top place for volleyball in the world, Omaha.  The coach also met some other big names in Omaha that night.  Rhule had a nice chat with Coach Harper Murray, Haarberg, and Raiola.  And Rhule got birthday wishes from some volleyball stars.

    These big names were interested in the same goal.  They all wanted to show their support for women's sports.  Terrence Crawford, a boxing legend, was also at the event.  He talked about the Supernovas.  Crawford said, "This is a great team. "  He asked that everyone come out and support the team.  And everyone there that night wanted the same thing.

    On January 31, 2024, the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha was certainly a place to be.  Women’s volleyball was a big deal that night.  But it was more than just a game.  It was a chance for these stars to show their support for the women.  Drum up some support for women in sports.

      Women's sports are rising. Names were there to prove it.  The event drew in some heavy hitters in sports.  Football stars from the Huskers team made an appearance.  And Coach Rhule even brought his whole family to Omaha for the day.  The night was about more than just volleyball.  It was for all women in sports.  The best athletes showed up to support the best athletes. So it is clear, both men and women in the sports community are putting up a fight for professional women athletes.

      The event was about volleyball.  However, the entire night was about more than just the sport.  Famous athletes came to support women in sports.  They knew that everyone needed to be a part of the fight for women in sports.  There are still many people who are questioning women's sports.  People like Heinrich Haarberg, Dylan Raiola, and Coach Matt Rhule and everyone else who showed up that night.  They saw an opportunity to show that they supported women in sports.  These athletes are starting a movement for women in sports.  And it seems to be getting stronger every day.  Everyone from the local stadium to the athletic big leagues are seeing the power of women's sports.
