House Backs Bill to Kick Out Violent Immigrants

On Thursday, the House approved a bill aiming to deport illegal immigrants with a history of violence against women. This bill, called the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, was introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC). Younger Democrats urge their party to be more assertive, while center-left lawmakers caution against extreme views, suggesting a return to the middle on contentious issues. Last week, the House passed another bipartisan bill, the Laken Riley Act, indicating a shift in stance on border issues. Some Senate Democrats also support Mace's bill, increasing the likelihood of similar backing in the Senate.
