Google's New Tool: Your Search History Unlocked
Friday, March 14, 2025
If you’re curious about trying this out, you can enable the feature from the Gemini app in your browser. Just make sure you’re a Gemini or Gemini Advanced subscriber.
Gemini’s suggestions can be surprisingly accurate. For example, it suggested content ideas for a YouTube channel based on the user’s search history. It even mentioned interests like retro tech and parenting, which were spot on. However, it also suggested content on mental health, which felt a bit too personal.
If you decide to turn on this personalization feature, be mindful of what you search for. If there’s anything you don’t want Gemini to bring up, use a different search engine like DuckDuckGo for those searches.
Google is also rolling out new features for everyone, not just Gemini Advanced subscribers. DeepResearch is now free to the public, and the Gemini 2. 0 Flash Thinking Experimental model has been added to enhance its capabilities. Gemini will also improve at handling requests between different Google services, like Calendar and Photos.
