Google Maps' location sharing is becoming Android's built-in feature

Android Devices to Get Native Location Sharing Feature ===================================================== Google is working on adding a location sharing feature to Android devices, allowing users to share their live location from the settings menu. According to recent findings, the latest version of Google Play Services features a new page in Settings > Google > All Services called 'Google Location Sharing'. On this page, users will find a toggle to turn 'Use Location Sharing' on and off. Once enabled, users will have the option to copy a link of their live location, which can then be shared with others. These others will be able to track the user's location on Google Maps.

Additionally, users will be able to view a list of all individuals who have access to their location. Notably, when the feature is enabled, Android will display a notification to inform the user that their location is being shared. It is worth noting that this feature is not yet available on all devices, with the author stating that it has not been seen on their Galaxy S23 or Galaxy M35 in India. It appears that the company is rolling out this feature in phases, and users may have to wait a few days for it to become available. There is currently no information available on what will happen to Google Maps' existing location sharing option once the native location sharing feature is introduced.
