Golf Sim Gets Big Boost to Help Players Master Real‑World Skills
The studio behind the hit game GOLF+ is planning a substantial update this year. Their focus: fixing virtual golf’s biggest flaw—learning real muscle memory.
New Features & Courses
CEO Ryan Engle said the update will include many new features and over a dozen fresh courses.Social & UI Improvements
A brand‑new social lobby and a cleaner user interface are on the roadmap.Mixed‑Reality Mode Preview
Engle showcased a mixed‑reality mode that tracks real golf balls and clubs, allowing players to practice driving, iron shots, and putting while the game displays a realistic course.
Current simulators rely on large flat screens to read ball speed and direction. These screens work well for full swings but struggle with slow shots like putting, lacking depth because the view never changes. Mixed reality would let golfers use a real ball and club while still seeing the game on a screen, building better muscle memory and providing a more lifelike feel.
Release Strategy
The studio hasn’t decided whether this will be an update or a separate version for other VR systems. They plan to bring GOLF+ to more platforms soon, including PC VR headsets.Flat‑Screen PC Version
The team also aims for a flat‑screen PC version that shares physics, multiplayer, and cross‑play with all platforms. This move could make virtual golf a stronger training tool for real courses.
