Giants Shake Up Quarterback Plans: Winston Steps In
The New York Giants are making significant changes at the quarterback position. Mike Kafka, the new interim coach, has announced that Jameis Winston will start this Sunday against the Packers if Jaxson Dart cannot play. Dart, the rookie who has been performing well, is still recovering from a concussion and is unlikely to be ready in time for the game.
Winston Over Wilson
Winston is now ahead of Russell Wilson, who started the first three games this season. Wilson's performance has been subpar, losing all three games he started. Although he had a decent game in Dallas, his other two starts were lackluster. Last week, when Dart got injured, Wilson came in and struggled, completing only a few passes and getting sacked twice.
Winston's Experience and Leadership
Winston has been a supportive teammate, helping Dart and other players. Known for his humor in front of cameras, he is serious when it's time to work. With 10 years of NFL experience, Winston has started 87 games and has thrown for numerous touchdowns and interceptions.
Kafka's First Challenge
Kafka, formerly the offensive coordinator, is now the interim coach after the previous coach was fired. The Giants have been losing consistently lately. Kafka will lead his first practice as coach with Winston as the starting quarterback.
