Get Your Foot in the Door: Entertainment Industry Event for Newbies

The entertainment world is throwing open its doors for new talent. Imagine a room full of bright-eyed young professionals, eager to dive into the entertainment industry. On February 25th, that room becomes a Zoom call. Two big names in entertainment are teaming up to host a virtual event called "Breaking In. " It is designed to help early career professionals get a leg up in the industry. This event will take place at 4 p. m. PT. You can join the conversation and ask questions. The panel will be moderated by Jon Kee from Circle Management + Production and will feature some serious heavyweights. These include Tim McNeal, senior vice president of creative talent development and inclusion at Disney Entertainment Television, Cliff Decatrel, a development executive and producer at Deca-Media, Janaé Désiré, director of development at Universal Content Productions, Shakira Hedgpeth, a TV literary agent from Kaplan Stahler Agency, Kristena Hatcher, CEO and founder of North Star Focus, and Mimi Vengoechea, an unscripted casting director at Go For Casting.

The event is a first-time collaboration between the Hollywood Radio and Television Society Foundation and the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program. The Hollywood Radio and Television Society Foundation is a charity that supports underrepresented individuals in entertainment. The Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program focuses on helping students from historically Black colleges and universities build careers in entertainment. This is a free event. All are welcome, even if you are not a member.
